about
ian is an avid, self-taught photographer, starting with a few rolls of and a beat-up old nikon SLR he found among his dad’s old things collecting dust. just a student then, with no one to teach him the basics, and with the high cost of film and developing charges, photography took a back seat. with the advent of digital cameras, he got his first dSLR, the nikon d90 when it first came out, and very soon jumped back to renewing his passion for photography.currently working as a lighting designer based in singapore, he is a registered and licensed filipino architect, drawing from his wide and relevant technical and architectural background and applies it into his photography.he does architectural, landscape and abstract photography, though his easy, outgoing nature draws him to portraiture and events photography as well, where he enjoys interacting with his subjects.

a great man once said. "light is the language of photography, it's how we speak, and we have to know how to speak eloquently, especially when our subject matter is another human being".portraiture is the most flattering of all the genres of photography, since it involves the interaction between photographer and subject. a good relationship between the two almost always translates to better pictures.oh, and the man who said those words?the master of small flashes, mr. joe mcnally

vistas: architecture & landscapes
we are surrounded with beautiful scenery, both natural and man-made. scenes from nature are loosely called "landscapes" or "seascapes", and are most dramatic as views of sweeping fields, mountains or oceans, with little or no man-made structures. sometimes, however, man's architecture can stand on its own and provide grand views as well. the fusion of both architecture and landscapes, howver, can sometimes lead to interesting images. it has the grandeur of a landscape with the familiarity of man's work.
